It's the Birthday That Never Eeeeeends

This boy is the big 2 this month.  We started the celebration out early and ended it late.  There are a few pictures in here that are not birthday related, but probably 75 percent of them are... So much for keeping it simple.
We started out our family celebration with Kangaroo Zoo and Coldstone ice cream.  Both children wanted gummy bears in their ice cream.  Probably the worst topping ever, but the ice cream was still yummy!
After, we opened presents.  Danny got some sunglasses and a chair from Mom and Dad.  He loves both of them.  I think the Dollar Store Mickey Mouse balloon (in the above picture) got more use than any of the other presents we got him.
I suppose I ought to put a tribute in here somewhere.  Though there is a lot of writing in this blog already.  I just love my little boy... I can't believe he is so big already.  He loves to snuggle and he is very much a "momma's boy".  He has just learned he is tall enough to reach the bathroom sink with the stool and will now "wash his face and hands" on his own.  He loves doing whatever Celecta is doing.  One of his favorite phrases is "Shake a bugga." or "Shake a boodie."  And boy is he good at it.  He hates to disappoint.  He loves to wear his shoes.  He loves his BYU jacket and BYU basketball.  A true Gee in the making/just like his dad.  Love my Dude!
Of course Celecta had to get in on the picture action.
Post ice cream.  What a kooky bunch!

Ryan went to a BYU basketball game without us.  So we watched it at home.  The kids kept asking where Daddy was on the TV so he sent a picture.  I'm sure this is how he looked the entire game ;).

Building a fort has been a very common occurrence this winter with all the snow and little to do outside of spend money and go play in it (we did both).  Celecta decided she wanted to make one herself during quiet time one day.  I think she did pretty well!
This picture was way back when Gigi and Grandpa took Danny and Celecta to the Treehouse Museum.  We expected them to be back about an hour earlier than they were.  I guess it was a hit!  :)
This blanket was given to Danny for his birthday by Ryan's aunt.  It is the new favorite!
After celebrating Danny's birthday once we decided to break up the birthdays with an anniversary celebration.  It was the best 24 hours ever!  We both got all dolled up and went up to Logan and went to Olive Garden and stayed at a bed and breakfast.  It was a wonderful time!  I was spoiled rotten over and over and boy does our budget show it!  ;)
I love this man more than anything!  He makes me happy when no one else can.  I can't get enough of his attention.  He is the best friend I have ever had.  Not because we are so similar but because we are both committed to working past our differences to make our life an eternal one together.  I make his favorite meals, he does my dishes, I learned about BYU football, he obeys my silly rules... I could go on and on.  I can tell him anything and he will listen.  God has blessed me.
Meanwhile, the parents are away, the aunts and kiddos get to play.  I thought of some things for these kids to do while we were gone and they did much much more.  I'm so grateful for sisters that my kids can look up to and who will love them and care for them in my absence.   I know I can trust them!

After we got back we thought it fitting to have the cake that Danny didn't have the first party with his aunts and uncles.  Megan and I slaved away on these all afternoon.  I think they turned out quite well!  Almost too good to eat!  Danny wanted a dinosaur cake.  I made the long neck and Megan made the triceratops.  Can you tell which one of us worked at a bakery?  This is my second cake though and I felt it went quite well!
Danny has learned to blow out his candles.  Of course he has had so much practice I'm not sure how impressed I should be.  ;)
This was the other "present".  With our family getting larger we thought it fitting to upgrade sleeping arrangements.  Danny was a bit confused at first and fell out of his bed quite a few times, but they both seem to be adjusting well.  We were worried that Danny would start getting out of bed and bugging us more, but the second night of Danny sleeping in the bed Ryan said Danny was crying for probably a half hour (Ryan thought I was in there with him).  Finally Ryan came up and saw that Danny was just sitting in his bed waiting for someone to come help him with his blankets...  He is still learning that he can come get us if something is wrong.

These pretzels are in the shape of a 'y'
Celecta and I were both spoiled for Valentines Day.  I didn't expect anything because of our anniversary celebration, but Celecta had wanted some Valentines Day flowers and I suppose Ryan took that request seriously because he got these after a 3pm-3am shift.  As if he hadn't gotten home late enough that night.  What a stellar man we have.
This is me practicing fitting all three carseats in the back.  Celecta has no way of buckling herself (I have to), but it works.  Hopefully we don't have to do this for very long, but it's comforting to know we can if we need to.
We decided to make a weekend of the 17th.  We came down to see Nanna and Opa's new house and celebrate three other birthdays (my sisters' and Nanna's).  It was time well spent.  The kids couldn't get enough of the toy room downstairs or pizza or Opa's drums.  And I got sent home with a lot of the left overs that they didn't want.
And of course a picture with Grandpa Dixon for posterity.  It's always fun to see him and have him during these special days!

The real reason for our trip this weekend was to be with Megan Gee on her first session through the temple.  It was a wonderful experience.  There is nothing like being in the temple together as a family and sharing the blessings of covenants we can make to return to live with our Heavenly Father together forever.  We are so excited for her opportunity to serve a mission and excited to reap the blessings of a loved one serving full-time.  Meanwhile we hope to be following her example in our everyday lives.
A rather large side note of this weekend was a birthday party for Benjamin.  Because we never celebrated Danny's birthday with the Gees, Jamie was gracious enough to do all of the work and let us reap the benefits of a full blown party for Danny AND Benjamin.  I hope Danny had a good time because there is no way I can live up to this performance, nor will I ever try!  Mickey Mouse was everywhere, the pizza, the walls, the games, the cupcakes.  Even better than Mickey, so was family.  What a blessing to have them!

I'm not sure if I should post this picture or not...
 Pin the nose on Mickey.
 Sporting Minnie headbands.
The star of the show is always balloons.
Grandpa Smith bonding with the kiddos.
Celecta being too cute for her own good.  Usually she is the center of attention in this house.  She did a really good job at not being.
But she definitely wasn't short on it.

Danny got a t-ball set for his birthday from Gigi.  He was pretty good at it.  Too good at practicing inside.  Now if this snow will melt we can try it out.
The product of a Jamie party.
If you are happy and you know it then your face will surely show it.

 Mickey cupcakes.
